The results of the annual Plus II examinations 2021 is likely to be announced by July 31, stated School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Dash on Friday.
Whereas talking to reporters, Dash stated that already efforts are on to make sure that the results are printed by July 31 as per the Supreme Court’s order.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on June 4 had announced cancellation of Plus II examinations conducted by the Council Of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in view of the Covid-19 pandemic situation.
“As per the Supreme Court order, we are trying our best to publish the Plus II results by July 31. However, it may get pre or postponed by a day or two if any unprecedented situation arises,” stated Dash.
Following the cancellation of the Plus II board examinations, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had directed CHSE to formulate a well-defined objective criteria to award marks to plus II students after thorough consultations with experts.
The State School Mass Education Department had constituted a 14-member experts’ panel to suggest various evaluation criteria for Plus II examination.
Earlier last month, the Supreme Court had requested state boards to declare the results for class 12 exams by 31 July. The internal assessment scheme must be formulated within 10 days, the Apex court had ruled.
However, the Supreme Court had said that it is not possible for states throughout the country to have a uniform scheme for the assessment of class 12 students’ performance after the cancellation of exams.
