All campaigning and political activities in the Nuapada constituency will be prohibited beginning today, November 9, 2025, as a period of silence precedes the by-election.
The Nuapada bypoll is set for November 11.
According to Odisha Chief Electoral Officer RS Gopalan, all political workers who do not belong to the constituency and are not voters in the constituency are required to leave before the silent time begins.
Gopalan asked individuals not to share or upload any political content during the 48-hour period preceding the Nuapada by-election.
The Nuapada byelection was called due to a vacancy in the Assembly seat caused by the death of BJD member Rajendra Dholakia.
All party candidates, including Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate Snehangini Chhuria, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Jay Dholakia, and Congress’ Ghasiram Majhi, have prepared for campaigning on the final day.
Yesterday, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi organized a large road show in Nuapada to campaign for party candidate Jay Dholakia. On November 7, BJD President Naveen Patnaik visited Nuapada to conduct a road show for party candidate Snehangini Chhuria.
Today, the Congress will arrange a magnificent parade from Khariyar Road town to Nuapada Ekta Chack, led by PCC President Bhakta Charan Das. Senior Congress leaders will also participate in the road show and campaign for party candidate Ghasiram Majhi. Similarly, Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Singh Yadav would travel to Nuapada to campaign for party candidate Ramakant Hathi.
