Bhubaneswar: Students, who pursued Class IX at Odia medium schools in 2019-20 academic year, will be eligible to appear for the annual High School Certificate Examination this year carried out by the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), announced the Odisha government today.
The annual board exam this year will be carried out in May.
As schools in the State remained closed since March 2020 because of the Covid pandemic, the Class IX students were unable to sit for the annual examination for class promotion.
The government further stated it directed schools to hold special classes for the Class IX students considering their issues.
Worth mentioning, the government allowed schools to reopen for Class X and XII students from January 2021, adhering to the Covid guidelines.
Similarly, Class XI students from 2019-20 academic year will be allowed to sit for the Plus II exam in May this year conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE).
