The Odisha Legislative Assembly’s Budget Session began on Thursday with Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati’s presentation to the House.
The Governor began his address with ‘Jai Jagannath’ and conveyed his condolences on the deaths of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and former Odisha MLA Bijay Kumar Mohanty. He asked that his and the House’s condolences be expressed to the grieving families.
In his talk, Kambampati emphasized the Odisha government’s several developmental projects, ranging from Srimandir repairs to the implementation of the Subhadra Yojana and the buying of paddy from farmers at Rs 3,100 per quintal.
“The state government is working in tune with the spirit of ‘Sabka Satha, Sabka Vikash’ motto and is moving forward with plans and programmes to achieve Viksit Odisha by 2036 in line with Viksit Bharat envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Governor provided a list of programs implemented by the state government to improve farming, education, health, and other sectors. He stated that his government’s key goals are to empower women, economically disadvantaged groups, and young people.
The Governor also thanked the state administration on safeguarding Odia asmita and successfully hosting the DGP/IG conference and Pravasi Bharatiya Divas.
