Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced the names of his party’s candidates for three more Assembly seats.
Khurda: Rajendra Sahu
Begunia: Pradip Sahu
Bhograi: Gautam Buddha Das
Chief minister and BJD president Naveen Patnaik, in a video release, announced that Rajendra Sahu will be the party candidate for Khurda constituency, Pradip Sahu for Begunia and Gautam Buddha Das for Bhograi seat.
Rajendra Sahu is the sitting MLA of BJD from Begunia in Khurda district while Buddha Das is the spokesman of the ruling party in the state.
The party has dropped present Khurda MLA Jyotirindranath Mitra to give the ticket to Sahu for the seat. Similarly, another sitting MLA, Anant Das of Bhograi, has not been nominated in this election since Buddha Das will run for the seat. Anant reportedly lobbied for a party ticket for his son, Anant Das.
The BJD has not yet announced their candidates for the three critical seats of Khandapara, Nilgiri, and Korei.
