During the Universal Health Coverage Day 2022 campaign, Odisha won first place for generating the most ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Accounts) IDs.
According to an official press release, Dr Brundha D, Mission Director, National Health Mission, Odisha, received the coveted award from Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare Mansukh Mandaviya on behalf of the Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) Department, Government of Odisha, on the occasion of Universal Health Coverage Day celebrations in Varanasi on Saturday.
The ABHA ID is a one-of-a-kind health ID that allows citizens to access their medical records at any time and from any location in India. It provides a complete digitized history of their health, allowing doctors and other healthcare providers to have a better understanding of their health status and provide appropriate and timely diagnosis and treat across India.
Every year on December 12, International Universal Health Coverage Day (UHC) is observed. This year’s theme is “Build the World We Want: A Healthy Future for All.” From October 12 to December 11, this year, the H&FW Department conducted an intensive Management Information System (MIS) campaign across the State, with a special emphasis on ABHA ID creation, improving utilization of e-Sanjeevani (telemedicine services), and strengthening of all e-Health initiatives at the Sub-Centre level.
In response to the Government of India’s target of creating 21.90 lakh ABHA IDs, the State has created 43, 61, 895 (199%) ABHA IDs through various portals such as the NCD portal, RCH portal, e-Sanjeevani, PMNDP, and Nikshya Portal (NTEP).
As a result, Odisha has surpassed all other states/UTs in India. Odisha’s top ten ranking districts are Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Ganjam, Sundargarh, Mayurbhanj, Kendrapara, Baleswar, Puri, and Keonjhar.
Despite several challenges, Team Health Odisha has demonstrated the highest level of commitment and dedication to achieving this feat of creating the greatest number of ABHA IDs in the country.
