Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presented the state budget for 2025-26, allocating funds to key sectors.
Here are the allocations for major sectors:
– Health Sector: Rs 23,635 crore, accounting for 8.2% of the total budget size and 2.2% of the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) ¹.
– Education Sector: Rs 41,273 crore, making up 14.2% of the total budget size and 3.9% of GSDP.
– Social Security: Rs 24,250 crore, representing 8.4% of the budget size.
– Women’s Empowerment: Rs 17,998 crore, accounting for 6.2% of the budget size.
– Agriculture and Allied Sector: Rs 37,838 crore, making up 13% of the budget size, with an 11.6% increase in allocation over the last budget.
– Irrigation and Flood Control: Rs 16,273 crore, representing a 15.3% increase in allocation over the previous budget and 5.6% of the budget size.
– Rural Development: Rs 39,221 crore, accounting for 13.5% of the budget size.
– Urban Development: Rs 9,985 crore, representing 3.4% of the budget size.
The total budget outlay for 2025-26 is Rs 2.90 lakh crore
