After a two-year Covid hiatus, Odisha celebrated the 74th Republic Day with much patriotism and public participation.
At a state-level program held on Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar, Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal hoisted the National Flag in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also attended the event.
The Governor saluted various contingents, including Odisha Police, BSF, Odisha State Armed Police (OSAP), CRPF, NCC, and Andhra Police.
“Freedom in Mind, Faith in Words, Pride in our Heart, Memories in our soul, Let’s salute the nation on #RepublicDay,” the Governor said in a tweet.
Wishing the people on the occasion, the Chief Minister said, “On this auspicious day, let’s remember the selfless sacrifices of freedom fighters for the nation and pledge to follow the ideals enshrined in the Constitution in letter and spirit.”
A large crowd gathered on both sides of Mahatma Gandhi Marg to watch the state-level parade.
Nine tableaux highlighting the accomplishments of various departments in Odisha were presented.
Millet Mission, Mukhyamantri Vayu Swasthya Seva, Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya, Basudha drinking water scheme, Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC), Jagannath temple redevelopment project, Mukhyamantri Bayan Jyoti Yojana, Buddhist tourism circuit, and Odisha State AIDS Control Society were among the projects highlighted in the tableau.
State Finance Minister Niranjan Pujari saluted at the Barabati stadium in Cuttack.
Pujari also emphasized the state government’s various welfare programs.
At various district-level Republic Day celebrations across the state, various Ministers, Revenue Divisional Commissioners (RDCs), and District Collectors hoisted the national flag.
