Bhubaneswar: Patriotic fervour gripped Odisha with celebration of the 72nd Republic Day throughout the state, today.
Odisha Governor Prof. Ganeshi Lal hoisted national flag on the state-level Republic Day celebrations at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar and took salute of the parade. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik graced the occasion as the guest of honour.
As many as 14 contingents of CRPF, RPF, ODRAF, OISF, Odisha Fire Service, SOG and so on. had been commanded by 25-year-old S. Susree, Kesinga SDPO, in the parade.
Students and NCC cadets weren’t allowed to take part within the parade this year. Only police contingents took part in the parade. Restricted variety of friends, together with some Covid warriors, had been invited to the event.
Congregation of people at the parade site was also prohibited because of the COVID-19 situation.
