Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today approved a proposal for the development of Maa Cuttack Chandi temple under the Odisha government’s 5T initiative’s Integrated Development of Heritage, Monuments, and Tourist Destination scheme. The Works Department’s project proposal will be carried out with a Rs 70 crore investment.
According to official sources in the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), the project will be completed in one year by the Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation Ltd (OBCC).
Patnaik stated that the renovation of the Maa Cuttack Chandi temple will play an important role in the overall development of Cuttack City, while requesting residents’ cooperation.
According to CMO officials, a stone boundary will be built around the temple, as well as four gates.
On the grounds of the Maa Cuttack Chandi temple, a new Jagamohan, Yagnya Mandap, Chandi Patha Mandap, Mundan Mandap, Hanuman temple, and kitchen will be built. On the premises, the floor will be made of Khondalite stones. CCTV installation and proper lighting will also be completed. The Batamangala temple will be rebuilt as well.

Care will be taken to ensure that devotees can pay their respects to the deity without difficulty.
Near the temple, a police control room, cloak room, drinking water facility, and audio guide facility, a ‘Yatri Nivas’ for devotees, and a common room for sevayats will be built.
For displaced shopkeepers, up to 18 new stores will be opened. In addition, an office building will be built. Parking will be provided, and landscaping will be completed.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary SC Mahapatra, 5T Secretary VK Pandian, and other senior officials.
