Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Wednesday a donation of Rs 5 million each to Kerala and Tripura to aid in recovery efforts following recent natural catastrophes in both states.
Majhi conveyed her condolences to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha following the destruction caused by landslides and flooding, respectively. During telephone conversations with the chief ministers, he expressed Odisha’s willingness to assist with post-disaster rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts.
According to the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Majhi has announced financial assistance from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) to the affected states. Kerala and Tripura would each receive Rs 5 crore to support their recovery efforts.
Vijayan and Saha both expressed gratitude for Odisha’s support, while Majhi praised them for assisting Odia inhabitants in their respective states during recent natural catastrophes.
Kerala recently saw a catastrophic landslide, and Tripura was hit by a terrible flood.
