On the occasion of Utkal Divas, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik approved a Metro Rail route connecting Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Puri. According to reports, the first phase will connect Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) and Trisulia.
The Metro Rail project was proposed in February of this year at a high-level meeting chaired by the Chief Secretary. The project’s goal is to provide the public with an affordable and convenient mode of transportation while also reducing traffic congestion on the roads.
On Saturday morning, a team of officials led by Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Principal Secretary, Commerce & Transport Usha Padhee, Secretary to the CM (5T) VK Pandian, and IT Secretary Manoj Mishra visited the proposed project site.
