Bhubaneswar: At a time when there is an upsurge in Covid cases and the worst-affected States are imposing lockdowns, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed the District Collectors to be ready for return of the migrants.
Whereas reviewing the Covid situation by video-conferencing, the Chief Minister requested the Collectors to reactivate the protocols immediately that had been followed by the State government earlier on foundation of the existing database of migrants.
“The quarantine norm and testing should be ensured for all the returnees from different states. Senior officers assigned as Observer and different obligations to place their greatest effort like last year,” the Chief Minister added.
He also directed officials to ramp up beds with oxygen system. Although there isn’t a problem of beds and oxygen within the state currently, nonetheless we must stay ready, he added.
“Further increase in the number of beds in Covid Hospitals and Covid Care Centres across the State. Special focus should be on offering maximum potential variety of beds with oxygen support. The system has to work on war-footing to make sure this inside dedicated timelines,” he stated.
The officials had been requested to monitor Oxygen supply situation closely and be sure that all associated equipment on the hospital stage can be found on precedence.
