Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has agreed to increase the gratuity ceiling from Rs 15 lakh to Rs 20 lakh.
According to an official press release, in accordance with CM Majhi’s decision, the State Government has increased the Death-Cum-Retirement Gratuity (DCRG) benefit for all regular State Government employees from Rs. 15 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh retroactively from January 1, 2024.
Previously, many State Service Associations urged that the Government increase the DCRG ceiling limit for State Government personnel.
It should be noted here that the Central Government has increased the Retirement and Death Gratuity under the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 2021 for its employees, effective January 1, 2024.
