Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has declared that the amount of insurance in the Gopbandhu health insurance program for working journalists will be enhanced from Rs.2 lakh to Rs.5 lakh. This will benefit the state’s 8717 working journalists and their families.
It is worth noting that the working journalist and his or her family were eligible for medical benefits up to Rs 2 lakh under the Gopbandhu Health Insurance Scheme. The amount has now been raised to Rs 5 lakh “so that the journalist and his family can receive better medical services,” according to the CMO.
