Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched ‘Mukhyamantri Vayu Swasthya Seva’ (Chief Minister’s Air Health Service) from the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) in Bhubaneswar on Monday.
Under the scheme, the people of four tribal-dominated districts Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Nuapada, and Kalahandi will be able to get better healthcare.
Qualified and reputed doctors from various medical colleges and corporate hospitals will fly to the hospitals in these districts as per the pre-arranged schedule to treat patients with cardiovascular, neurological, kidney and bladder problems. The government will bear all the costs for it.
Inaugurating the service, Chief Minister Patnaik congratulated the people and hoped that the poor people of these four districts would be able to get better health care. In accordance with it, a flight left for Malkangiri with a medical team today.
The function was attended by Health Minister Naba Kisore Das, Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Secretary To CM (5T) V K Pandian, and senior officials.
