Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled the ‘Samikshya’ site, a new digital platform, to increase transparency in the implementation of local development initiatives.
The Chief Minister launched the ‘Samikshya’ webpage at the Lok Seva Bhawan, where he received the final report of the Sixth State Finance Commission (SFC) from Chairman Dr. Arun Kumar Panda.
According to reports, the ‘Samikshya’ portal will provide real-time updates on the status of projects such as roads, drinking water supply, sanitation, street lighting, parks, and public utilities funded by the State Finance Commission (SFC) and the Central Finance Commission (CFC).
Citizens, elected representatives, and anybody else can utilize the site at https://samikshya.odisha.gov.in to track the status of project implementation.
Presiding over the meeting, the Chief Minister advised the officials to improve Odisha’s economic parameters, change the structure of the Panchayat level, raise people’s living standards, improve the condition of every village and urban area, and lay the groundwork for a prosperous Odisha.
It is worth noting that the Commission’s report stressed the importance of building local governments’ financial infrastructures through a predictable and formula-based approach. Special focus has been given to equity, geographical inequities, and the unique demands of rural and urban communities. The Commission has made both financial and non-financial recommendations for the overall development of local bodies.
