Mohan Charan Majhi, the chief minister of Odisha, led the state’s industrial growth on Thursday by laying the groundwork for 13 new projects and launching a production facility. These projects are expected to generate around 37,030 jobs with a total investment of ₹5,770 crore.
Majhi formally inaugurated Varun Beverages Limited’s new unit, which has been set up with an investment of ₹624 crore at Malipada in Khurda district. Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for 13 industrial projects, all located within Khurda, reinforcing the district’s role as a key industrial hub.
The landmark event was carried out across three locations—New Industrial Estate Haldiapada, Industrial Estate Mundamba, and Khordha Textile Park Kalibeti—demonstrating the state’s commitment to fast-tracking industrial projects.
The actions demonstrate the government’s effectiveness in turning investment proposals into immediate economic opportunities and come within 60 days after the Utkarsh Odisha – Make in Odisha Conclave 2025’s successful conclusion. Speaking at the function, Majhi underlined Odisha’s dedication to industrial development and business-friendly reforms, guaranteeing an environment that puts ease of doing business first.
The projects span a wide range of industries, such as refractories, packaging, mechanical and electrical capital goods, textiles, clothing, food processing, and technical textiles. Numerous well-known local and international companies took part in the event, including IFGL Refractories Ltd., Shalimar Glass Works Pvt. Ltd., Polimiroir India Pvt. Ltd., and Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Pvt. Ltd.
“These projects are not just industrial ventures—they are growth engines for Odisha, providing employment for our youth and pushing the state toward a ‘Samrudh Odisha’ (Developed Odisha). We are committed to building an inclusive, sustainable, and globally competitive industrial ecosystem,” Majhi stated.
Industries, Skill Development & Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain also addressed the gathering, highlighting the government’s focus on industrial infrastructure, skill development, and regional diversification.
The CM opened the Nestlé India Mega Food Factory project at Khordha One Industrial Estate after the groundbreaking at Haldiapada Industrial Park. He later opened Varun Beverages’ cutting-edge factory. The event came to an end at New Textile Park in Kalibeti, where Majhi visited the Trimetro Garments India Pvt. Ltd. (EPIC Group) construction site and set the groundwork for worker hostel amenities that will aid in the growth of the clothing cluster in the area.
