Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met with World Bank President Ajay Banga at the Lokaseva Bhavan to discuss inclusive growth and skills.
The conversations between the Odisha Chief Minister and the World Bank President centered on the state’s development priorities and long-term economic strategies.
Youth employment creation, skill development, infrastructure enhancement, and support for agriculture, MSMEs, tourism, and social sectors were among the priority topics.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister stated that Odisha’s business-friendly reforms had helped attract Rs 2.5 lakh crore in investments by December 2025, resulting in job possibilities, particularly for young people and women.
Ajay Banga lauded Odisha’s success and focus on skill development. He stated that the World Bank will fund India’s national effort to modernize Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the country to help youth learn job-ready skills.
The World Bank also promised Odisha continuing support in the form of technical coaching, policy advice, and financial aid.
While discussing difficulties such as urban expansion and sustainable resource management, both parties resolved to collaborate under the Odisha Vision 2036 and 2047: Viksit Odisha for Viksit Bharat.
Majhi also presented Odisha’s Vision Document at the high-level meeting, which was also attended by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, Development Commissioner D K Singh, and other top state government officials, as well as World Bank personnel.
