Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a 10% reservation and a 5-year age relaxation for Agniveers working in uniform services in Odisha.
The CM made the announcement during a news conference at Lokseva Bhawan before departing for Delhi to attend the NITI Aayog Governing Council meeting.
According to the CM, the reservation and age relaxation are intended to benefit Agniveers who have served the nation through the Agneepath initiative. This measure is expected to assist a substantial number of Agniveers interested in joining the state’s uniformed services.
The Chief Minister stated that troops who have joined the Indian Army are a source of national pride. “Our Agniveers are also army-trained and qualified to play vital roles in a variety of defence areas.
He added that the Agniveer Scheme is a historic initiative announced by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modiji. This effort has made our youngsters capable and fearless, allowing them to confront numerous problems in life, he continued.
That is why, the Chief Minister stated, the Odisha government has chosen to enroll Agniveers into the state’s uniformed services.
