Today, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi launched the Subhadra Yojana Awareness Rath (chariot), a state-wide drive to raise awareness about the women-empowering plan.
Majhi, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister and Women & Child Development Minister Pravati Parida, emphasized the importance of the project, stating that it will benefit women throughout Odisha.
“The Subhadra Yojana is not just an opportunity for women empowerment but also a reflection of Odia Asmita (pride),” said Majhi. The awareness chariots will educate people on how to apply for the scheme, ensuring that the benefits reach every eligible woman.
Deputy CM Parida assured that there is no deadline for the registration process, and all women who qualify will be covered.
“The awareness chariot will address any confusion regarding the scheme,” Parida stated. She emphasized that no beneficiary would be left out.
Under the Subhadra Yojana, women will receive a yearly sum of ₹10,000 for five years. The first payment of ₹5,000 will be given on September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
The initiative is one of the pledges stated in the BJP’s election manifesto, with the goal of enrolling at least one crore women.
