Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a cash award of Rs 1.5 crore for Odisha’s Javelin star athlete Kishore Kumar Jena who has clinched a silver at the ongoing Asian Games at Hangzhou, China. Kishore qualified for the Paris Olympics with a personal best of 87.54m.
With this silver, Kishore Jena has produced a historic moment for the state and country, brought accolades to the country, and will be carved in the country’s sports history.
“The award is in recognition of his stellar performance, perseverance, and determination,” Patnaik remarked. I congratulate him on his Asian Games victory and qualification for the Paris Olympics. Kishore’s victory not only represents personal excellence, but it also serves as motivation for aspiring athletes across the country”.
Chief Minister assured all support for Kishore for his preparation for the Olympics next year.
