Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched 133 new Mobile Veterinary vehicles to provide healthcare services to livestock in the State.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the mobile veterinary cars at a celebration held at Kalinga Stadium ,Bhubaneswar by the Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department, as part of the “Mukhyamantri Bhramyaman Pranichikitsa Seva” initiative.
The state and national economies have always benefited greatly from the livestock industry. The raising of animals is a significant source of revenue for farmers. The State Government is dedicated to raising farmers’ incomes and raising their standard of living, and it is actively working toward this goal.
The livestock sector has been identified as an area of growth for small and marginal farmers, women self-help groups and entrepreneurs.
The State government has taken several important steps to protect livestock and provide them with proper medical care.
Along with this, as a commitment of the state government towards the welfare of animals, Mukhyamantri Bhramyaman Pranichikitsa Seva programme has been introduced. Through this, mobile veterinary units can reach sick animals and provide veterinary treatment in areas where there are no veterinary facilities.
The Mukhyamantri Bhramyaman Pranichikitsa Seva programme is becoming very useful in providing emergency healthcare services to sick animals. Earlier these mobile units were operating through hired vehicles. In the first phase, 181 mobile veterinary units at a cost of Rs 30 crore were inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on September 8.
Another 133 new Mobile Veterinary vehicles were launched by the Chief Minister at a cost of Rs 21.28 crore.
As a result, veterinary services have reached the doorsteps of people. This mobile unit also has surgery facilities. Through this, animal vaccination and diagnostic services have also been made available and wide public awareness has been created among the farmers. According to the pre-arranged program, this mobile unit goes to various villages of the block and provides veterinary services.
5 ‘T’ initiative uses the latest technology including GPS for transparency. The location of moving vehicles can be tracked through.
In addition, six Mukhyamantri Prani Ambulance Seva trucks have been stationed in the city today to offer emergency medical attention to sick and injured cattle and animals.
