Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced a Rs 1 crore cash prize for each member of the Indian Men’s Hockey Team if they win the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup-2023, which will be held in the state from January 13 to 29.
This announcement was made by the Chief Minister while inaugurating the World Cup Village at Birsa Munda Hockey Stadium here.
The Chief Minister met with members of the Indian Men’s Hockey Team, who are currently staying at the World Cup Village, and wished them luck in the World Cup.
The players lauded the efforts of the Odisha government and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik in creating a holistic hockey ecosystem in India.
Previously, Hockey India announced a cash prize of Rs 25 lakh for each player of Indian Men’s Hockey Team if they lift the cup at the FIH Men’s Hockey World Cup-2023 in Odisha.
