Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited the Lok Seva Bhawan to oversee various Energy Department programmes.

During the review discussion, the Chief Minister underlined the necessity to use at least 85% of the Energy Department’s budget.

He emphasized the recurring issue of power outages throughout the summer due to overloading and asked officials to upgrade feeders and transformers to remedy it.

CM Majhi also emphasized the significance of creating a strong backup system to maintain a consistent power supply.

To meet peak power demand, the Chief Minister ordered officials to consult with various power producing companies to ensure enough electrical supply in the state.

He also stated that efforts will be made to seek assistance from the Central Government if necessary.

Furthermore, CM Majhi instructed staff to fully activate a quick response system to resolve consumer complaints during power shortages.

The Chief Minister directed all power distribution companies in the state to be attentive and provide uninterrupted electricity delivery during the summer months.

He also asked the Energy Secretary to implement measures to reduce wasteful power consumption in government offices. CM Majhi suggested using sensor-based electrical equipment in government offices to enhance energy conservation.

Regarding the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, the Chief Minister advocated for a massive awareness effort to increase participation in the rooftop solar scheme. This effort attempts to encourage renewable energy while reducing reliance on traditional power sources.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Additional Chief Secretary to the CM Nikunj Bihari Dhal, Principal Secretary for Energy Vishal Dev, OPTCL Chairman and Managing Director Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma, CEOs of the state’s four power distribution companies, and other senior Energy Department officials.
