During the last 24 hours, at least 12 locations in Odisha recorded a maximum temperature of 37.0°C, indicating a hot summer ahead.
While the state experienced dry weather, the highest maximum temperature of 38.3°C was recorded at Sonepur and the lowest minimum temperature of 12.0°C was recorded at Phulbani in Odisha’s plains.
The IMD has issued a yellow warning for dense fog in one or two locations over Khurda, Cuttack, Angul, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, and Bhadrak districts.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) bulletin, the minimum temperatures observed marked a rise in one or two districts of south coastal Odisha, an appreciable rise in one or two districts of north Odisha, and an appreciable fall at one or two places over the districts of south interior Odisha and no major change elsewhere over the districts of Odisha.
Meanwhile, the temperature in Bhubaneswar, the state capital, was 38.0°C during the day. Similarly, the temperature in Talcher was 38.2°C, and in Nayagarh it was 38°C.
The weather service predicts that there will be no change in the weather for the next five days. The state is receiving dry air from the west of the country.
February is getting hotter by the day. Because there has been no rain in the state since October, the temperature is steadily rising.
