The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall in numerous regions of Odisha between July 23 and 26.
According to IMD sources, a low-pressure system is expected to form over the North Bay of Bengal on July 24, resulting in heavy rains in many areas.
According to the IMD forecast on July 23, Cuttack and Nayagarh are anticipated to receive heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. These districts are under an orange warning. Other districts, such as Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Angul, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Khordha, and Boudh, may see heavy rain on the same day.
On July 24, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Sundargarh are expected to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall. Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Bargarh, Angul, and Dhenkanal may experience heavy rainfall.
As per the prediction of the regional weather office, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Bargarh, Sambalpur, and Keonjhar are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall on July 25. Besides, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Deogarh, Angul, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, and Jajpur may experience heavy rainfall.
Some places may still have strong to extremely heavy rain on June 26.
On Monday, Cuttack received 15.2 mm of rain, Bhubaneswar 9.5 mm, Malkangiri 3.2 mm, and Bhadrak 3 mm.
