According to an official announcement released on Monday, the Odisha government set the minimum age for enrollment in Class 1 at 6 years old as of September 1 for the 2025–2026 academic year.
According to the statement, all primary schools will start offering an extra preschool program called “Sishu Vatika” in the upcoming school year.
Children between the ages of five and six are eligible to enroll in the preschool.
According to the notification, the National Curriculum Framework Foundational Stage (NCF FS) will be adopted in the first phase of the state curriculum framework reform, which will begin in phases starting with the 2025–2026 session.
