The Centre has sanctioned Rs 73,723 crore for railway construction in Odisha. Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the permission and shared full details on social media.
The proposed Rayagada railway division in Odisha has been authorized, with a tender of Rs 107 crore issued for the construction of the railway divisional headquarters. The East Coast Railway will consist of three railway divisions. Additionally, 59 stations in Odisha are being renovated under the Amrut Stations Scheme.
During Modi’s third term, the cabinet approved eight new railway projects totaling Rs 19,289 crores. These projects include:

2. Junagarh Road-Nabarangpur New Railway Line
3. Malkangiri-Pandurangapuram via Bhadrachalam New Railway Line
4. Badampahad-Kendujhargarh New Railway Line
5. Bangiriposhi-Gorumahisani New Railway Line
6. Budamara-Chakulia New Railway Line
7. Sardega-Bhalumuda New Doubling Railway Line
8. Bargarh Road-Nuapada Road New Railway Line
The railway minister also discussed with the MPs of Odisha including Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
