Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati has introduced the ‘e-Lok Bhavan Odisha App’, a secure web-based platform aimed to improve citizen connection with the Governor’s Secretariat. This move makes Odisha the first state in the country to implement a completely automated appointment and visitor management system at Lok Bhavan.
The launch is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Digital India initiative, and reflects Lok Bhavan’s commitment to innovation and cleanliness. The software streamlines procedures, minimizing paperwork and repeat visits. Key features include online booking, real-time tracking, WhatsApp and SMS notifications, digital QR-based e-gate passes, and safe entry verification.
The software features a centralized dashboard, website integration, and a 360-degree virtual tour of Lok Bhavan. Citizens can use their mobile number to register, schedule appointments, and check their status. Approved requests receive confirmation by WhatsApp and SMS, as well as QR-based e-gate passes and reminders.
Governor Kambhampati described the launch as a significant move toward transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric governance. Rupa Roshan Sahu, Commissioner-cum-Administrative Secretary, was there, as were other high officials. Lok Bhavan has taken strides toward sustainability, such as installing solar electricity and electric vehicles, as well as creating an eco-park named “Atal Van” in honor of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
