Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida , announced on Monday that on April 22 and 23, qualified recipients who were previously excluded from Subhadra Yojana benefits would receive financial aid.
This comes after a thorough survey to determine which beneficiaries are disqualified.
“We have received approximately 1.7 lakh new applications. This data was forwarded to the district headquarters on April 2. Following a survey, the financial assistance for eligible beneficiaries among these 1.7 lakh applications will be distributed on April 22 and 23,” said Pravati Parida while speaking to reporters after attending the Yoga Mahotsav at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar.
Parida further shared, “Yesterday, I spoke with five Subhadra beneficiaries who had been rejected. I learned that they received the first installment but later took loans, declaring an income of over Rs 5 lakh, which led to the withholding of their second installment. To address this, we will conduct door-to-door surveys, ensuring that financially vulnerable persons receive the support they need. The survey process will begin on April 14.”
Additionally, the Deputy Chief Minister stated unequivocally that going ahead, no new applications will be considered.
A specific outreach program will be set up to address unresolved issues and guarantee that the worthy recipients of financial aid receive it.
