The Odisha government has announced one day of paid menstruation leave for all women employees in the state government and private sector. On Thursday, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida made the statement while speaking to the media in Cuttack to commemorate the 78th Independence Day.
Women working in the state government and private sector can take leave on the first or second day of their menstrual cycle.
Parida stated that the state government will shortly issue a Menstrual Health Policy. She stated that the humanitarian decision was made within the first 100 days of the Women and Child Development Department of the BJP-led Odisha government.
