The Odisha Government on Tuesday appointed six new members to the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR).
The appointments were made in accordance with Sections 17(1), 17(2)(b), and 18 of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005, according to a notification released by the Department of Women & Child Development (WCD) on August 5, 2025 (Notification No. WCD-BCC-MISC-0011-2025/19814).
The newly appointed members will hold office for a period of three years, or until they turn sixty, whichever comes first.
“In exercise of the powers conferred under Sections 17(1), 17(2)(b), and 18 of the Commission for Protection of Child Rights Act, 2005, the State Government hereby appoints the following persons as Members of the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (OSCPCR) for a period of three (3) years from the date of assumption of office or until attaining the age of sixty years, whichever is earlier,” the notification stated.
The newly appointed members are:
- Sukeshi Oram – Kadagadia, Champua Sub-Division, Keonjhar
- Kalpana Lenka – L-12, 2nd Phase, Ward No. 8, Basanti Colony, Rourkela
- Chandana Das – EB-562, Badagada Brit Colony, Bhubaneswar
- Kasturi Mishra – Plot No. 68, Ward No. 41, Bapuji Nagar, Bhubaneswar
- Manasmita Khuntia – Lachhaman Bhawan, Plot No. 20, NH-16, Charampa Square, Bhadrak College
- Sujata Nayak – 202, Ganapati Tower, Bomikhal, Bhubaneswar
It is anticipated that the appointments will support the OSCPCR’s continued efforts to safeguard and advance the welfare and rights of children throughout the state.
