The Odisha government’s Women and Child Development (W&CD) department announced new rules on Thursday for its significant flagship project Subhadra for women’s welfare.
According to an official press release, these criteria were created so that beneficiaries may receive accurate information and apply for membership in the system.
According to these standards, the beneficiary’s age must be 21 years or older and less than 60 years.
Eligible women just need to have an Aadhaar card/number in their name and a cellphone number that is linked to their Aadhaar card. The applicant must have a single-holder bank account (i.e., a bank account in their own name), which must be operational and enabled for direct benefit transfer.
All beneficiaries will receive a Subhadra card for convenient purchases. All qualifying women would receive Rs 50,000 in two installments over a five-year period, at a cost of Rs10,000 each year.
Every year, the first installment is issued on Raksha Bandhan, and the second on International Women’s Day.
To promote digital financial literacy among women, 100 women from each Gram Panchayat and Municipal area with the most digital transactions would receive an extra Rs 500 as a reward directly to their bank accounts.
Subhadra Yojana is a groundbreaking effort that promotes women’s overall development. These recommendations have been issued to ensure the scheme’s successful implementation. The agency has recommended that all stakeholders not be mislead by any incorrect information on this project.
