The Odisha government published its official holiday schedule for 2024 today.
It has 30 public holidays in total, including numerous puja festivals and national days.
The Revenue and Disaster Management Department announced the calendar year 2024 holiday list on Tuesday.
There are 30 public holidays and 6 optional holidays on the list.
On the other hand, there are 30 public holidays in 2024, beginning with Makar Sankranti on January 15 and ending with Christmas on December 25.
On these days, Revenue and Magistrate Courts, as well as government agencies, will be closed. Other alternative holidays are Guru Gobind Singh’s birthday on January 17, Brahmo Samaj Foundation Day on January 25, Easter Saturday on March 30, Raja Rammohan Rai’s birthday on May 22, Bahadur Yatra on July 15, and Christmas Eve on December 24.
State government employees may take one optional holiday on any festive/commemorative day from the list of six available.
State government employees, on the other hand, will receive 46 Sundays and 22 second and fourth Saturdays. This means that government employees will receive a total of 30 public holidays, including one optional holiday and 68 Sunday and Saturday (second and fourth) holidays, for a total of 99 holidays in 2024.
