The Odisha government has formally declared the adoption of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, a major step to improve the state’s educational system.
The Odisha School and Mass Education Department made the announcement on Wednesday.
The official notification states, “After careful consideration, and in the interest of strengthening the educational system in the state, the Government is pleased to order that the National Education Policy 2020, as issued by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, will be implemented in the State of Odisha.”
Furthermore, the notification emphasizes that the National Curriculum Framework with local contextualization has been adopted by the state and is now the State Curriculum Framework for Odisha.
The NEP 2020 places a strong emphasis on research, innovation, and hands-on learning in its quest to transform the educational system.
Additionally, it emphasizes the development of skills through industrial internships, guaranteeing that educational programs correspond with job openings and market demands.
