A cyclone is active in the north-eastern Bay of Bengal and surrounding areas, causing heavy rain in some parts of the state. While the flood situation in the state is gradually improving, some districts are expecting heavy to very heavy rainfall.
The districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, and Sundergarh have received an orange rain warning. IMD has also issued a yellow warning in 11 other districts.
Meanwhile, a low pressure system may form over the Bay of Bengal on August 29,2022, but no specific information has been provided by IMD.
