The India Meteorological Department’s regional office in Bhubaneswar has issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms with lightning in one or two places in the Odisha districts of Sundargarh, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore over the next few days.
Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are expected in one or two places in the districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Ganjam, Keonjhar, and Mayurbhanj, while dry weather is expected in the remaining districts of the state.
According to the MeT office, the maximum temperature (day temperature) is unlikely to change significantly in most parts of Odisha over the next four to five days. During the next few days, the maximum and minimum temperatures in Bhubaneswar and surrounding areas are expected to be around 35°C and 22°C, respectively during the next 24 hours. The region will experience a partly cloudy sky, the weather office has forecast.
Meanwhile, maximum temperatures fell markedly in one or two places in north interior Odisha, fell noticeably in one or two places in interior Odisha, and were above normal in a few places in coastal Odisha.
The highest maximum temperature was 38.2°C at Boudh, and the lowest minimum temperature was 16.8°C at Nabarangpur in Odisha’s plains.
