Even though the southwest monsoon has begun to leave India, heavy rains continue to fall in some regions of Odisha due to an active low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal. The well-marked low-pressure system has weakened into a low-pressure system and is still active across south-western Jharkhand and northern Chhattisgarh, according to the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) morning bulletin on Tuesday.
According to the weather service, many parts of Odisha are anticipated to see heavy rain over the next two days due to the low pressure.
On Tuesday, the IMD issued yellow warnings for heavy rain in various Odisha districts, including Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Jajpur, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Dhenkanal, Bolangie, Sonepur, Sundargarh, and Jharsuguda.
A yellow alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for 11 Odisha districts for Wednesday.
