Bhubaneswar: Odisha has extended partial lockdown to further check Covid-19 cases till July 16.
Night curfew will continue throughout entire state, whereas weekend shutdown will remain in only 10 districts where test positivity is more than 5%, media reports mentioned.
Twenty districts with take a look at positivity fee under 5% (categorized A -Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Kalahandi, Balangir, Nuapada, Sonepur, Ganjam, Gajapati, Kandhamal, Boudh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Angul, Dhenkanal and Keonjhar.) will take pleasure in extra relaxations in comparison with the remaining 10 districts (class B). Weekend shutdown will proceed in 10 Class B districts, whereas there can be no such curbs in Class A districts.
From July 1, all shops, including standalone barbershops, will be allowed to remain open from 6 am to 6 pm in Category A districts.
Shopping malls, spas and beauty parlours will, however, remain closed.
Bus transport will be allowed in Category A, however not in B. Shops will open from 6 am to 6 pm in Category A, whereas these will be allowed from 6 am to 2 pm in Category B districts. Buses will be allowed to pick up passengers up to seating capacity only. Taxis and autos can carry a maximum of 2 persons apart from the driver.
The Chief Secretary mentioned that the weekly haat and daily markets will resume in these districts (Category A). “The collectors and municipal commissioners have been asked to make sure that the vendors maintain social distancing and abide by the COVID guidelines,” he mentioned.
Outdoor and indoor movie shooting will also be allowed in these districts. Street food vendors can deliver takeaway orders.
