Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered 2806 fresh COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours and added 61 more fatalities because of the viru.
Of fresh infections, 1613 have been reported from different quarantine centres and 1193 were the local contacts, informed State Information & Public Relation Department today.
While Khordha district continues to be in top place with 590 single-day COVID cases followed by Cuttack district with 441 cases, Jajpur district reported 252 new cases in a single day.
With this, the COVID tally surged to 9,35,136 with 27,429 active cases in Odisha up to now.
Meanwhile, 61 more fatalities have been reported from 17 districts after due completion of audit process on COVID deaths taking the toll to 4,476 so far in Odisha, the State Health and Family Welfare Department informed today.
While Khordha district registered the highest 11 daily COVID deaths, 6 each died in Bargarh, Ganjam, Mayurbhanj and Puri districts. 5 each death to virus in Sambalpur and Sundargarh districts, 4 in Keonjhar district, 2 each in Cuttack, Dhenkanal and Nayagarh districts and 1 each in Boudh, Gajapati, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Nuapada and Rayagada districts.
