Given the impending summer heat, the School and Mass Education department has directed all government and private schools in Odisha to begin morning classes on April 11. The Department of Information and Public Relations has issued a notification to that effect.
The classes will start at 7 a.m. and last until 11:30 a.m., according to the directive. The district administration, on the other hand, has the authority to alter the schedule due to the heat wave in their respective region.
Furthermore, school officials have been directed to provide clean drinking water and other facilities in the event of a heat wave.
The new academic session will start on April 3 for Classes I to XII and enrollment in schools will be completed by April 8.
“The academic session is starting on April 3 this year. Admissions of students will take place from April 3-8. Proper arrangements have been made to provide textbooks to students immediately after their admission,” said School and Mass Education minister, Samir Ranjan Dash.
