Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Puri, where he began the Badadanda roadshow following a darshan of Lord Jagannath at Sri Mandir. Dog and bomb squads have cordoned off the whole roadshow area, imposed a no-fly zone, and cleansed it in preparation for the Prime Minister’s roadshow.
It should be remembered here that Modi arrived in Bhubaneswar on Sunday evening, met with state BJP leaders at the party office, and spent the night at the Raj Bhawan. Later, he would attend election rallies in Angul and Cuttack, campaigning for party candidates.
Temporary barricades have been built on both sides of the Grand Road in preparation for lakhs of party workers and leaders. In anticipation of the Prime Minister’s visit, a carcade rehearsal was held on Sunday.
The SPG examined security arrangements on Puri’s Grand Road, which will host Modi’s roadshow, in the presence of Puri district police officials, senior police officers, and local administration.
According to sources, the security arrangements would be made in accordance with BLUEBOOK guidelines, with 63 platoons of police being deployed in the temple city to protect the Prime Minister. Additionally, 3 Commandants, 42 Police Inspectors, 109 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and an anti-terrorist special tactical unit (STU) would be deployed.
