Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Thursday directed the department worried to take preemptive measures against cyclonic storm Yaas, which the India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipated will frame over the Bay of Bengal on May 26.
Advising this, Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena tweeted that he had a video conferencing with the IMD Director General on the most recent climate update.
Afterward, the SRC held a preliminary meeting with the offices concerned to keep their manpower and machineries prepared for the cyclone. The department secretaries have effectively begun the arrangements, he added.
“As directed by the Chief Minister, the departments will take all necessary actions beforehand to minimize discomfort to the people,” Jena said.
