Bhubaneswar: As many as 5235 new positive cases of Covid-19 had been detected till midnight of Thursday, which has been the lowest since April 22, 2021, as reported by the Information & Public Relations Department on Friday.
Apart from, 43 Covid positive patients have died within the last 24 hours whereas undergoing treatment at various hospitals, as informed by the Health & Family Welfare Department.
Among the new cases, 2957 are in quarantine and 2278 are local contacts. With this, the overall number of Covid-19 cases in Odisha now stands at 842461. District-wise details of the new cases are as under.

Among the deceased persons, one each is from the districts of Dhenkanal, Kandhamal, Nayagarh, and Sambalpur; two each from Balasore, Ganjam, Jharsuguda, Kendrapara, Puri, and Rayagada; three each from Boudh and Kalahandi; 4 each from Angul, Bargarh, Cuttack, and Sundargarh; and 5 from Khordha.
With this, the total death toll because of Covid-19 in Odisha now stands at 3210.
