Bhubaneswar: Amid sharp decline in every day COVID-19 positive cases, Odisha reported the highest single-day toll of 47 deaths in last 24 hours.
The fresh fatalities because of COVID-19 have been reported from 17 districts with the highest number of deaths from Khordha district in a single day.
Whereas six persons died of the virus in Khordha district, Cuttack stood second in terms of single-day toll of 5 COVID deaths.
Similarly, the deadly virus claimed 4 each lives in Angul and Bargarh districts and 3 each in Balasore, Bhadrak, Boudh, Dhenkanal, Ganjam and Nayagarh districts in last 24 hours. Two each died in Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara and Puri districts and 1 each succumbed to the disease in Balangir, Jajpur, Rayagada and Sundargarh districts.
With this, the total number of deaths because of COVID-19 surged to 3,257 in Odisha.
