Odisha Governor Raghubar Das on Friday unfurled the Tricolour in the presence of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at the Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar on the occasion of the 75th Republic Day.
The IPS officer AB Shilpa led the march, and the governor was also given the guard of honor. The parade today featured sixty-four contingents from the ITBP, CRPF, BSF, Fire, ODRAF, Odisha Home Guard, RPF, and Sainik School Police Band.
Four cultural groups, a Dare Devils skating team, and an Odisha Skating Academy skating team were among the other participants. As a guest contingent, Jharkhand Police participated in the Republic Day parade as well.
Twelve tableaux were displayed by various departments of the Odisha government. Agriculture, Education, Health, Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water, Works Department, Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department, Tourism, OSACS, OMC, and Fire Services Department were among the government departments that gave tableaux. They emphasized their efforts and accomplishments.
To symbolize peace and liberty, a flock of pigeons was released on this special day.
In the meantime, a three-tiered security structure was implemented at the parade site to bolster security. During the parade, a total of 160 police officers, 300 constables, 90 police force sections, and 150 house guards were stationed at and around the area.
On Republic Day 2024, the national flag was raised in all district offices, head offices, and commercial and educational buildings.
