Odisha: SEC Announces By-Election Date For Panchayat Samiti Chairman & Vice-Chairman Posts

The State Election Commission (SEC) has set a date for by-elections to fill vacant chairman and vice-chairman positions in various Panchayat Samitis across Odisha.

According to the SEC notification, the by-elections will be held on August 22, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Seven seats are open, including six chairman positions and one vice chairman position. The chairmanships of Kabisuryanagar, Khallikote, and Kukudahandi in Ganjam district, Narla in Kalahandi district, Raighar in Nabarangpur district, and Bhapur in Nayagarh district are currently vacant.

Furthermore, the vice-chairman position of Harabhanga Panchayat Samiti in Boudh district is currently empty.
