Odisha’s State Transport Authority (STA) launched a special enforcement campaign against underage driving on Tuesday.
Lalmohan Sethi, Additional Commissioner (Enforcement), STA, announced on Monday that enforcement drives against underage driving will begin on March 28 and will last until the end of the first week of April.
In addition to the seizure of the vehicles, Sethi stated that violators will face a fine of up to Rs 25,000.
In addition, he stated that underage driving will result in the cancellation of the vehicle’s registration.
He stated that a case will be filed against the registered owner of the vehicle and that he or she will be taken to court.
Minor boys and girls accused during the drive will have their data uploaded to the Sarathi database, and they will not be issued driving licenses until they reach the age of 25, he added.
