The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) in Odisha has announced a significant update for candidates who recently took the High School Certificate (HSC) examinations.
Students should anticipate receiving digital certificates within seven days of the results being announced, according to BSE President Srikant Tarai.
Speaking with media here on Saturday, Tarai disclosed that the introduction of digital certificates this year is an attempt to improve accessibility for students and streamline the procedure. After the results are released, the certificates can be downloaded from the official website in less than a week.
Furthermore, Tarai announced a notable change regarding the issuance of hard copy of certificates. Instead of the previous timeframe of one month, students can now collect hard copies from their respective schools within 15 days of the result declaration.
Assuring timely declaration of results for the HSC examinations 2024, Tarai informed that the evaluation process commenced on 14th March. With measures in place, including the engagement of around 16,235 teachers across 55 evaluation centres statewide, the board aims to conclude the evaluation by 28th March.
Acknowledging potential challenges due to teacher engagement in general elections, BSE vice-president Nihar Mohanty affirmed their commitment to adhere to the schedule. He assured that the evaluation process would not be disrupted due to any shortage of teachers.
More than 5.62 lakh students took the BSE Matriculation exam this year, which was held from February 20 to March 4. The board’s unwavering commitment to providing a smooth and timely evaluation process in spite of practical challenges highlights its commitment to upholding Odisha’s educational standards.
